Andreas Neubauer, born 1968 in Istanbul, grew into a musical background. His father, being a musicologist, spent time for research in Turkey and Persia where Andreas was exposed to mostly traditional folk music. Back in Germany he began to play the piano at age 9 and added the drums when he was 13 years. It was during his Senior year in High School in the US that he decided to pursue a professional career in music. After further study at Drummer's Collective in 1988 and 1990, Andreas has since been considered as an experienced and versatile drummer with a preference for Jazz, Soul, Funk and related styles. After spending most of 2008-2013 in Paris where he has established a second homebase he now resides mainly in Frankfurt. Current groups include Tango Transit, Jean-Philippe Bordier Trio and The Pinocchio Theory. He has performed among others with the following artists: guitarists Larry Coryell, Biréli Lagrène, Rick Vito and Barry Finnerty, singer/songwriter and Grammy-winner Ivan Santos, vibraphonist Dave Pike, saxophonist Tony Lakatos, pianists Kálmán Oláh, Jermaine Landsberger and Tony Tixier and German Pop acts such as Glashaus, Sabrina Setlur, Ringsgwandl and Dephazz. Andreas has recorded close to 100 albums and has recently been involved in a project of the Goethe Institute, introducing Jazz education in Ulan Bator (Mongolia).
