About

New York-based drummer Cameron Escovedo is a professional performing and session artist, using his dynamic craft to bring a wide variety of musical styles to life.

Originally from Oakland California, Cameron hails from a long line of professional drummers and musicians. From helping his father load drums from gig to gig to falling asleep behind his drumset during rehearsals, Cameron from an early age wanted a musical path of his own.

His professional music career started in High School where he started his first band. Not only was he the drummer but also the frontman and manager. He handled the booking and promoting for the band around the Bay Area where they had great success.

Honing his live chops in Santa Cruz’s eclectic music scene, Cameron played every gig he could. Regular gigs consisted of jazz combos, vocal jazz soloists and groups, big bands, recording sessions, weddings, and pit bands for amateur and professional musical theater.

As the drummer of a 13 piece soul band “The Inciters”, Cameron toured the US and Europe regularly. Throughout this time, he worked as a clinician and private teacher, teaching students from all backgrounds about a wide range of musical genres.

While playing gigs and recording sessions, Cameron also works as a private drum instructor and general manager of two established Long Island music schools. While constantly expanding the school’s programs and student body, Cameron puts extra focus on growing the already substantial special needs program. Cameron brings his industry experience and passion for music to both projects, as well as new projects that come along the way.
