Daniel McLaine (formerly Daniel Knop) is a professional drummer, composer and educator. He has recently appeared on Edy Edwards’ highly anticipated debut record "Medienapplaus" (2016) as well as on Groth&Bennecke’s first album "Versionauten" (2016). 

His groove-oriented thinking and approach of playing the drums is also featured in “Becker vs. Knop“, his electronic duo with keyboarder and producer Christian Becker. 

Throughout the past years Daniel has been playing and touring extensively in Europe, America and Asia as well as teaching at the "Drummers Institute," one of the finest schools in Europe. He has also appeared on several additional records. 

Daniel studied drums at the "Drummers Institute," earning the "best student 2004/2005" award, and graduated from the ArtEZ Conservatory of the Arts in Arnhem, Netherlands (Bachelor of Music). 

He is the author of "Ableton Live for Drummers", a workshop series that appeared in the German drum magazine “Drumheads“. 

He currently lives in Berlin, Germany, with his wife Erin and their cat Tobi.
