Diana “Danusia Beatz” Nowak-Riffel [born February 13th 1985] has been playing drums since 1999.

Born of Polish-immigrants and raised in Niagara Falls, NY, she has brought the beatz to multiple bands since 2003 all over Western New York with styles ranging from rock, blues, fusion, funk, hip hop & worship.

Danusia knew at 12 she wanted to be a drummer but her parent’s weren’t keen on drums in the house. After saving enough cash for two years and practicing on pillows, learning by ear listening to recordings, she proved to her parents she was serious. At age 14 she started official drum lessons with Mark Pirolli. In 2012, Danusia Beatz married her long-time musical collaborator Dave Riffel (since 2003), and they continue producing backing tracks and videos for various artists at their studio in the Niagara Arts & Cultural Center in Niagara Falls, NY.

In 2015, she quit her full-time job to pursue her first passion of drumming full-time. You can catch Danusia gigging with with her original Prog/Fusion band (Pangea), as well as cover bands at local festivals/clubs and churches around Western New York. She frequents conferences and beatz for worship leader Keri Cardinale. She is also an active drum instructor at the NACC as well as River Rock Church (in Buffalo, NY) where she teaches refugee teens from all over the world.

Danusia Beatz has recorded on several albums for local artists including Chameleon’s Coat, Grace Stumberg, Pangea, & Soul Purpose, as well as jingles for regional retailer Valu Home Centers.

Danusia frequents her studio for custom recording sessions, providing tracks for local musicians as well as remote artists she meets online. You might find drumming on the streets of Niagara Falls – busking for tourists from all over the world, encouraging the passersby to join in and play along with rhythms and melodies from their native cultures.

Danusia’s greatest influences have been Benny Greb, David Garibaldi, Carter Beauford; and most importantly her local mentors/teachers Teddy Reinhardt (of the legendary fusion group Gamalon) & Jim Linsner.
