Originally from Teutopolis, Illinois, Gregg moved to Nashville in 2000 after completing his Bachelor’s degree (Eastern Illinois University) and Master’s degree (University of Tennessee, Knoxville).  He immediately began spending his days working for the former johnnyraBB Drumstick Company and playing nights in the local club scene.  In 2003, he began playing with country artist Aaron Tippin where he spent 3 ½ years touring throughout the United States including an overseas tour to Kuwait and Afghanistan.


In October 2006, Gregg began playing for 2006 American Idol finalist and 2013 “Dancing With The Stars” winner, Kellie Pickler.  Since joining Kellie, he has performed on numerous television shows including: The Tonight Show w/Jay Leno, Ellen Degeneres, Good Morning America, The Today Show, American Idol, Dancing With The Stars,Extreme Makeover Home Edition, The View, Craig Ferguson, Jimmy Kimmel, Regis & Kelly, Fox and Friends, 2014 Salute to the Troops ACM Special, 2013 ACA Awards, 2009 CMT Awards, 2008 CMA Award Show, and the2008 ACM Award Show.  Kellie’s gig has included touring on Brad Paisley’s “Bonfires & Amplifiers” tour, Rascal Flatts’ “Still Feels Good” & “Nothing Like This” tours, Sugarland’s “Love on the Inside” tour, Taylor Swift’s “Fearless” tour, and Toby Keith’s “Hammer Down Under” Australian tour.  Also with Kellie, Gregg has taken two USO tours to Kuwait & Afghanistan to perform for the troops.


Over the past several years, Gregg has been called upon to sub with other country artists including Lady Antebellum, Craig Campbell, SheDaisy, Jaron & the Long Road to Love, Katrina Elam, Josh Turner, Trent Willmon, Ty Herndon, Brian McComas, Ray Scott, and Erika Jo.


Gregg has also been part of special musical events where he played drums for:  Steve Cropper, John Oates, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Darius Rucker, Big & Rich, Thompson Square, Phil Vassar, Rodney Atkins, Brett Eldredge, Justin Moore, Craig Campbell, Dustin Lynch, Josh Thompson, Jon Pardi, Cole Swindell, Jana Kramer, Kip Moore, Tyler Farr, Casey James, Greg Bates, Larry Stewart (of Restless Heart), The Kinleys, and Colt Ford.


When not on the road, Gregg maintains a busy playing schedule in Nashville both live and in the studio.  He has co-written/co-produced music for the Cincinnati Reds baseball documentary, “Let’s Get Ready to Win” which made it’s television debut on the MLB network in 2011.  He also co-produced music for the baseball documentary “Cobb Field,” which received a regional EMMY nomination in 2009.


In 2012/2013, Gregg appeared on various episodes of Season 1 of the ABC hit show “Nashville” where he was the drummer for the “Juliette Barnes” character played by Hayden Panettiere. 


In addition to maintaining an active performing schedule, in the Fall 2006, Gregg was hired as Adjunct Percussion Instructor at Tennessee State University where he continues to teach percussion at the collegiate level.
