Red Jesus (Fernando Costa, April 16, 1980) was born in Mexico City and raised in Santiago, Chile, where he started studying drums at the age of 10 and teaching them when he was 16. After being under the guidance of drummers like Andrés Falco, Camilo Torres, Andrés Silva and Nacho Mena (Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso), he studied in Taller de Músics in Barcelona.

Back in Chile, he collaborated with a lot of local blues, rock, folk and pop projects, until he moved to L.A. (2013) where he started his eclectic solo project, red jesus, in which he has found a perfect way of combining all his artistic skills. His debut album, “Coming Soon” had the collaboration of A-List musicians such as Carl Verheyen (Supertramp) and Tim Carmon (Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney).

These days he is based in Mexico City (again), where he divides his time between Red Jesus shows, drumming for the alternative folk-rock Mexican band Capo and collaborating with other artists and projects such as Saúl Fimbres, Paz Quintana, Andrea Velasco, and Monte Coral.
