Congratulations to Kent Knappenberger, music teacher at Westfield Academy in Chautauqua County, Western NY, who has won the first ever Music Educator Award from the Recording Academy and Grammy Foundation.  Mr. “K”, who was nominated by 2 formers students and the parent of a former student, was selected for this honor out of 30,000 other nominees from all 50 states.  We here at Regal Tip are very proud to have one of our “locals” recognized for all that he has contributed to music education.  But we are also happy to see that the Grammy Foundation is recognizing the importance of music teachers and music education in the schools.   The Buffalo News said it best…”Administrators who decide on curriculum and taxpayers who decide on school budgets should take note.  Music education, just as other often so-called “expendable” school courses, impacts lives”.
