Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' drummer, Jeremy Jones, joins Regal Tip roster.

A warm welcome to Regal Tip's newest endorser.  Jeremy Jones, drummer for Maclemore & Ryan Lewis / The Teaching,  was raised in Denver, Colorado, and attended college at Duke University where he studied with Paul Jeffrey and received the Lionel Hampton Scholarship for Jazz Studies.  After graduating from Duke in 2002, Jeremy moved to Seattle and began integrating into the diverse music scene of the northwest.  In 2003 and 2005, he was selected to Betty Carter's Jazz Ahead at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, an international residency program for young emerging jazz composers.  He released an album of his original compositions entitled Awakening to Life with his group Jeremy Jones Xtet featuring Thomas Marriott in 2008.

Jeremy plays in the dynamic Seattle-based trio The Teaching along with Josh Rawlings and Evan Flory-Barnes.  The Teaching has released four albums, including Live at Dazzle and Birds in Flight on the Dazzle Recordings Label, and a full-length DVD recorded Live at the Triple Door in Seattle.  The Teaching won the Earshot Jazz Golden Ear Award for Best Northwest Acoustic Jazz Ensemble in 2009 and Band of Year by the Inside/Out Awards in 2010.  Jeremy received a GRAMMY Nomination in 2014 for playing drums on Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' album The Heist which was nominated for Album of the Year, and became a Featured-Artist on a GRAMMY-Winning album when The Heist won in the Best Rap Album category. The Teaching was a featured artist on the track BomBom.

Jeremy has also performed or recorded with Billy Taylor, Winard Harper, The Coats, Chevy Chase, Choklate, Reservoir Cats, Upbeat, Seattle Percussion Trio, and Jazz for Peace.  In addition to performing and recording in the Pacific Northwest, Jeremy often performs in his home state of Colorado, and has toured nationally and internationally including Italy and Peru.  He is passionate about education and has given many workshops and performances at schools including teaching at the Jazz in July program at the University of Massachusetts, the Discover Dance program of Pacific Northwest Ballet, and his alma mater Pomona High School in Arvada, Colorado.
